How important education is...

One time there was a young 15 yr old girl, who decided she didn't want to be in school anymore.

Things at her home were very bad, she was failing almost every class, she couldn't walk down the hallway of the school without crying, she felt alone at school, and couldn't concentrate on her studies. Even some of her friends didn't go to school anymore, and of course, she wanted to hang out with them instead of being at school. So she came home from school one afternoon and told her parents that she had decided to quit school and that there was nothing they could say to change her mind.

At first, she had alot of fun. She could go to bed at whatever hour she wanted, wake up in the afternoon if she wanted. Some of her friends from her old school were envious of her. During the day, she would watch tv, go to the shopping malls, hang out with her friends at their houses or at the park. At night, she'd talk on the phone to her friends from her old school, making them jealous by telling them how much fun she had during the day. She seemed to be happy with her new life. Even though people we telling her that she would regret her decision later on. For months, and years, she continued to have fun. She didn't listen to the advise of people telling her to go back to school. They told her that the longer she waits, the harder it will be for her to go back. But, she didn't listen to anyone. She didn't think they knew what they were talking about.

The day of her 18th birthday, her parents told her that if she didn't go back to school, that she'd have to find a job. The young girl thought that it would be easy. She searched in the news papers and the classified ads. Finally she got lucky, she found a job in a coffee shop. The pay wasn't very good, and the work was very hard and stressful. So she decided to leave that job. She tried to find a new job, but she was having difficulty finding one. Alot of employers didn't give her a chance when they found out she hadn't finished school. She decided to go on social assistance until she could find a job.

As the years passed, it became harder for her to find a good job because of her lack of education. Sure, she found jobs here and tehre, but they were all low paying jobs. The hours were long and the work was hard. Now she was begining to ask herself if she made a mistake by leaving school. Just like everyone had said, she was beginging to regret the decision she made when she was a teenager.

Now, as an adult, she realizes that you need an education if you want to go far in life. Having an education is important not only to be wiser, but also you can be a good role model for your children and your younger siblings. And, having a good education will help you to get a good job in the future and have a better life.

I hope you learned the true meaning of this story and learn the importance of education and always have in mind that an education is not a waste of time and that the nations march to their greatness at the same pace as their education advances.
